Bridging the gap between the arts
& entertainment community and the computer world
Most of the music we hear on our favorite FM station or on CDs (or from
online "streaming audio" sites) has been recorded, stored, transmitted,
and brought to us via computer technologies.... technologies that you
can use yourself, in your audio creations. But, once we get some
software to run on our PC which we can use to record and mix our audio,
many of us find out that it can be a quite difficult task.
It's not
that we couldn't learn all about the intricacies of computer hardware
and software, but when we just want to record a song idea, or record
our band in a rehearsal, using one of the many DAW (Digital Audio
Workstation) software packages out there, this can become a daunting
venture into geekdom, which gets us away from our art, and especially
our spontaneous creative instincts.
What we need is someone who has a deep understanding of both
computer technologies AND music as understood by an experienced,
creative performer... someone who can help us get our computer and
audio components in order, and, if possible, show us how to use the
system effectively in our sound-sculpturing art form known as music.
